Fast like a native client. Smart like an IDE.
Why Querly
Querly pairs the instant feel of a lightweight Mac client with the schema intelligence of a full database IDE, then adds tools you will not find elsewhere.
Most database clients make you choose. A lightweight Mac client opens instantly and stays out of the way, but its SQL editor knows little about your schema. A full database IDE understands every table and column, but it starts slowly and feels heavy. Querly is built to give you both in one app.
Instant and nativeSwift and AppKit, no Java or web runtime, a grid that stays smooth on large tables.
Smart autocompleteA background schema index, JOIN suggestions from foreign keys, and ranking that learns how you write.
Follow relationshipsClick a foreign key to open the row it points to, and see every table that points back.
Laravel-awareRelationships without FK constraints, enum labels, and migration SQL before it runs.
Speed you can feel
- Native app. Querly is written in Swift with SwiftUI and AppKit. There is no Electron, no Java runtime, and nothing to warm up.
- A grid built for big tables. The data grid draws its own cells and loads rows in pages, so scrolling stays smooth and memory stays flat no matter how large the table is.
- Work off the main thread. Schema loading, Laravel project scans, and completion all run in the background. Typing never waits for the database.
- Cancel on the wire. Press
Escand Querly asks the server to stop the running query, instead of only hiding the spinner. - Reconnects quietly. If a connection drops, reads reconnect and retry once on their own. Writes never retry automatically.
IDE-grade intelligence
- Schema index. Querly caches tables and columns for the connection, so completion answers instantly, even across other databases on the same server.
- Context-aware suggestions. After
FROMyou get tables, insideWHEREyou get the columns of the tables in your query, and aliases resolve to their table. - JOIN lines from foreign keys. Type
JOINand Querly offers the whole line, with theONcondition already written. - Learns your habits. The columns, tables, and clauses you use most rise to the top.
- Error squiggles and query plans. See problems as you type, then read the plan as a navigable tree.
Tools you will not find elsewhere
| Feature | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Command palette | Every action and every keyboard shortcut in one fuzzy search, on ⌘P. |
| Relationship navigation | A chevron on each foreign-key cell opens the referenced row. The details panel lists related rows in both directions. |
| Laravel integration | Relationships inferred from Laravel naming, polymorphic types resolved, casts shown as labels, and migrate --pretend SQL previewed. |
| Safe Mode | Read the exact SQL of every change before it reaches the server. |
| Quick filters and Summarize | Option-click a value to filter by it, or count and group a table without writing SQL. |
Coming from TablePlus?
Run Switch from TablePlus… from the command palette. It imports your connections, applies the TablePlus shortcut preset, and can turn on Safe Mode for new connections.
